Access Hollywood Live: Connie Guttersens Sonoma Diet Recipes

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Svelte stars, like Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Alba, are both fans of the Sonoma Diet, which is a healthy menu of fish, veggies, nuts, and other fresh, whole foods. Connie Guttersen, author of The New Sonoma Cookbook stopped by Access Hollywood Live to share a few of her favorite dishes, which are simple to make and take less than 30 minutes to pull together. Heres the recipe for her yummy Gigi Salad. The Gigi Salad(start to finish takes 30 minutes and yields 4 servings) Ingredients: 2 cups hearts of palms, sliced2 cups orange segments1 cup jicama, julienne1 pound shrimp, peeled and cooked1/2 cup Citrus Vinaigrette (see below) 1/2 cup pomegrante seeds1 California avocado, cut in quarters lengthwise, then in 1/4 inch pieces1/4 cup scallions, thinly cut on bias2 cups butter lettuce, cut into strips4 flatbreads2 tablespoons slivered almonds, toastedSalt and pepper to taste Combine heart of palm, orange, jicama, and shrimp in a bowl. Toss with salt and pepper. Dress with 4 tablespoons Citrus Vinaigrette. Gently mix in pomengrante seeds, avocado, scallions, and lettuce. Serve on top of warm whole-wheat flatbread. Garnish with almonds. ***** Citrus Vinaigrette (4 servings) Ingredients: 1/2 cup orange juice1/4 cup grapefruit juice1 tablespoon lemon juice1 tablespoon red wine vinegar1 tablespoon orange zest1 tablespoon soy sauce1 tablespoon agave syrup 1 pinch chili flakes1 tablespoon olive oilSalt and pepper to taste Combine all ingredients in a blender.
